Cruzando el charco #41: Wintersong, Frostblood y Hunted

¡Hola ciudadanos! ¿Cómo va avanzando la semana? Espero que genial. En el día de hoy vengo de nuevo con una entrada que os gusta mucho, la de cruzando el charco, en la que os muestro libros que próximamente llegarán a nuestras librerías y que, literalmente, cruzarán el charco, valga la redundancia. Como han salido un montón de novedades de cara a este 2018, he decidido dar un gran alto y poner, si me veo en esta situación, dos o tres novedades a la vez, porque si no, no acabo nunca. ¡Vamos allá!

Cruzando el Charco es una sección original de Ciudad de los Libros, en los que mostraré qué libros publicados en Estados Unidos finalmente llegarán a España próximamente.

As the two of them grow closer, they must learn just what it is they are each willing to sacrifice: her life, her music, or the end of the world.

Wintersong es una de las grandes apuestas para noviembre de la editorial Roca. Seguramente hayáis visto este libro por todas partes, ya que ha triunfado entre la comunidad literaria estadounidense, que no ha parado de alabar esta obra de S. Jae Jones. Se trata de un libro de fantasía, retelling de, si no lo tengo mal entendido, la reina de las nieves. Ha cosechado, como digo, muy buenas opiniones, y ya sabéis que roca está que lo peta con los libros retelling desde hace unos meses, apostando de nuevo por ellos este año. Aún no sabemos fecha exacta, ni si se conservará la portada. ¡Pero espero que sí!

PUBLICACIÓN: noviembre

Ruby, una joven de diecisiete años, es una Fireblood que ha escondido sus poderes de calor y llamas de la cruel clase que gobierna, conocida como Frostblood. Pero su madre es asesinada mientras trataba de protegerla, y los rebeldes le piden su ayuda para detener al cruel rey que se encuentra sediento de sangre. Ruby acepta salir de la clandestinidad en la que siempre ha vivido desesperada por vengar la muerte de su madre. A pesar de sus habilidades impredecibles, Ruby se ejercita con los rebeldes, liderados por Arkus, un joven tan exasperante como irresistible, quien solo ve en ella una simple arma para la batalla. Pero antes de que los rebeldes puedan entrar en acción, Ruby es capturada y forzada a participar en los Juegos organizados por el rey, en los que se enfrentan los prisioneros Fireblood contra los campeones Frostblood. Ahora Ruby tendrá la oportunidad de derrocar al cruento rey que le ha arrebatado todo, también al helado joven del que ahora está enamorada.

Siguiendo con Roca editorial, para marzo nos trae el inicio de una nueva serie de fantasía que también ha dado mucho de qué hablar en Estados Unidos. De esta publicación tenemos más información, como la fecha exacta y la portada que tendrá que, como podéis ver, conservará la original, adaptando el título al español. A pesar de que, desde mi punto de vista, ya tiene algunos detalles que me podrían chirriar, me llama muchísimo la atención, y espero que no me decepcione cuando lo lea.

La otra gran apuesta, que llega por parte de La Galera en esta ocasión, es Hunted de Meagan Spooner, un retelling autoconclusivo de La Bella y la Bestia, donde solo uno de los dos sobrevivirá. Es un giro interesante y llamativo, y eso de que sea un libro autoconclusivo ayuda a que se vea más apetecible. Tampoco tenemos muchos detalles con respecto a esta publicación, así que espero que la editorial nos enseñe más detalles próximamente.
